FunTyper - success for your pupils!
The majority of writing in the work place is now done using keyboards. Your school is no exception. Just have a look in your administration department to see how many reports and letters are written by hand? Laptops and computers are ever more present in the classroom with some exams now being taken on the computer. However, one statistic stands out: over 80% of schools in England do not yet teach touch typing to their pupils!
By learning to touch typing your pupils will improve their writing speeds – sometimes becoming 5 times faster. They will also improve the quality of work, along with their productivity, as their thought processes will not be disadvantaged by slower hand writing speeds.
Learning how to touch type correctly from the start is crucial. Having the correct posture and finger placement will help prevent:-
- Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)
- Carpel Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)
- Limb Disorder (LD)
FunTyper offers your pupils a multi-sensory, game based touch-typing system with an emphasis on developing high levels of accuracy and speed. FunTyper is a structured programme, where each pupil will progress according to their ability. This allows mixed ability groups to work at the same time. FunTyper will suit the brightest pupils whilst providing re-enforcement for those that require extra help or have educational requirements such as dyslexia or dyspraxia. The FunTyper group account allows you to set up an account for your school, and assign pupils to it. It will provide you with the use of a personalised leaderboard and the ability to monitor your pupils progress.
